The Philippines is planning to capitalise on its success as a centre of excellence for voice based Business process outsourcing by building a new BPO hub in Subic Bay according to a recent address by the Chairman of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority. The new facilities will add to the area’s existing excellent infrastructure creating a safe and enjoyable place to live, work and relax.
The vision for the new hub includes a rising IT and call center operative workforce building to around 20,000 within the next 5 years. SBMA is proactively targeting BPO providers with a view to bringing significant investment into the region. Many of the jobs created could be filled by local graduates but the centre is also likely to attract call centre workers currently based in Manila.
